Our Supporters
We participate in the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) through Orangeburg County and FEMA. Grant money is provided twice annually depending on availability.
We maintain a contractual relationship with the Harvest Hope Food Bank in Columbia , SC. Through Harvest Hope we receive USDA surplus food which is funded by The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). We can also purchase donated food for a very low service charge from Harvest Hope.
We receive support from several local churches including the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, The United Methodist Church of Eutawville, and the first Baptist Church of Eutawville. We also receive a large amount of support from the East Orangeburg County Fishers of Men, a local charitable organization.
We currently receive funds from the Church of Epiphany’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament, and the annual “Souper” Bowl Drive.
Curves, a local fitness center in Santee, holds an annual food drive for us. The Santee Post office also holds a food drive.
Several people in the community have been very generous supporters.
The Catfish Man
Rick Warren hails from Nebraska and spends his spring in Santee-Cooper catfishing. Last year he stopped by the New Hope Center with his wife and asked if he could make a donation. The donation was catfish, and lots of it. Throughout the late winter and early spring Rick shows up each Wednesday with about 40-50 ziplock bags of catfish, about 2 pounds each, filleted and frozen. This helps us to supplement our meat supply and the community loves to get the catfish (who wouldn't ?).Rick and his wife are such nice people, incredibly generous, but most importantly, Christian. We will pray a prayer of gratitude for Rick and his bride.
Thank You Rick!!
